Global Link Logistics To Manage Own Shipments
At Origin from Asia to North America
End-to-End Network, Operating Under Golden Gate Logistics Brand,
To Offer Smoother Booking, Better Visibility
Atlanta, Ga. – July 9, 2007 -- Global Link Logistics, the leading provider of import logistics services to the North American home furnishings industries, announced today that effective July 16, 2007, it will begin managing its own shipments at origin from Asia to North America under the brand of its parent company, Golden Gate Logistics.
“This is a key milestone for Global Link as it will allow us to considerably expand our services at origin, greatly improve supply chain visibility off our dedicated, end-to-end IT platform, and significantly control our costs and service to our customers,” said Gary Meyer, president of Global Link Logistics.

Golden Gate has flagship offices in Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and full coverage throughout China. Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and other origin points are being handled by the Southeast Asia network of agents with full visibility and direct access into the Global Link system.

Recently, Global Link announced a new transpacific express service called FLEX, an acronym for Furniture Less than container Express. Designed specifically for home furnishings shipments from Asia to North America, FLEX helps reduce landed costs and inventories for North American importers while providing complete supply chain visibility and event management.

of Antonio Leung as Senior Vice President, Asia Region

Golden Gate Logistics, a logistics company focused on Asia-to-North America supply chain solutions, has named Antonio Leung senior vice president, Asia region, a new executive position with the company. In this post, Leung will be responsible for the strategy, development and operation of Golden Gate’s activities in Asia.
Leung has over 35 years experience in the ocean shipping and logistics consolidation industries. Prior to joining Golden Gate, he was vice president of greater China for APL Logistics, a company he joined in 1996. He has also held management roles in liner, logistics, operations and marketing with Fritz Companies, American Consolidation Services and American President Lines.
Leung holds a master’s degree in technology management/global logistics management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Global Link is a leader in containerized ocean freight transportation and supply chain solutions, specializing in Transpacific Asian/North American trade lanes and import services from Latin America. Based in Atlanta, GA, Global Link is among the ten largest ocean forwarders in the rapidly growing China to U.S. trade lane and is also the leading freight forwarder and customs broker for the U.S furniture industry.
Since its inception in 1998, Global Link has achieved very strong growth by providing exceptional service and low landed cost solutions. Its customers include companies shipping from factories in Asia and Latin America to their distribution networks or directly to retailers.

to form Golden Gate Logistics, LLC

GTCR Golder Rauner, LLC (GTCR), one of the nation's leading private equity firms, today announced it has entered into a partnership with John Williford, John Rocheleau and Ed Feitzinger to form Golden Gate Logistics, LLC (Golden Gate).
The new company, headquartered in Palo Alto, California, will focus on acquiring and consolidating logistics providers in the U.S. and internationally. GTCR plans to invest up to $200 million of equity capital to support management's strategy of building a leading global logistics company. Williford will act as CEO of Golden Gate, Rocheleau will serve as CFO, and Ed Feitzinger will serve as senior vice president.
“The formation of Golden Gate Logistics is consistent with GTCR’s long-standing investment strategy of identifying highly attractive industries and partnering with exceptional management teams,” commented GTCR Principal David Donnini.

Williford was responsible for launching Menlo in 1991 and building it into a leading logistics provider globally.
Rocheleau has more than 16 years of financial and operational experience in the transportation and logistics industry. From 2001 to 2005, he served as CFO of Menlo Worldwide and has occupied several related posts with CNF, Inc. Feitzinger brings over 15 years of relevant sales, technology and operational experience. Most recently, he served as head of worldwide logistics at Hewlett Packard. Previously, he was senior vice president of sales and marketing at Menlo.
